Dancing with the Diva

The last full day of Glastonbury and another day packed with things to see. Thankfully the rain was gone - a few spots and nothing more. Wellies were still my (Chris') footwear of choice.

We started by walking up the hill to the Glastonbury sign. It's a location from which you get a full panorama of the whole site, and it really does make you realise what an extensive event this is. From here we also enjoyed listening to the specially collected ensemble (including part of Goldfrapp and Portishead) perform Barry Gray's tv themes of the 60s, Thunderbirds, Joe 90 etc.

We moved on to see the excellent White Lies. We tried to avoid the masses watching Dolly Parton but were well within earshot and she had drawn a huge crowd to the Pyramid stage. Ed Sheeran was up next, a great solo set maximising the crowd involvement.

A quick bite then it was on to see the later stages of Bombay Bicycle Club followed by a great set from Ellie Goulding. We moved stages again to catch the mellow tones of London Grammar in the John Peel tent. This had the advantage of being really near the main draw of the evening for us...

...the wonderful Katherine Ellis who was singing on a stage in Silver Hayes in a set by Marc JB. His music gave us a great chance to kick back and really dance before the Diva herself came out. The two performed a great track - what a voice! Here she is, in full blip glory.

Katherine, great to see both you and Max - and it would be lovely to catch up sometime. We'll keep an eye on where you're performing! Hope you like the picture... :) A & C
