Rose Bay Willow Herb

My Mother in Law called it Fireweed. Called thus because it grew along the railway lines when the trains were steam trains and belching out smoke. It seems to grow well everywhere and we have a lot in the wild bits of the garden. I pull lots up as weeds. Apparently the new shoots make good tea but I have not tried it myself.
I can't visit Aunt P. as the ward she is in is closed due to the Noro Virus. I am hoping she does not catch it. She has a place in a very nice Care Home at last, so will be moving shortly.
