Shipwrecked

As we were in the area, we swung by Inis Oirr. Probably the most famous thing the island is the shipwrecked MV Plassey of Father Ted intro fame.

The boat ran aground in a storm in 1960, and the crew must have had a rude awakening when she hit rock!

After 50 years the boat has sort of melted a bit into the surroundings, with flakes of rusted iron peeling off everywhere.
