Reflection of blue skies..
..in Knaresborough.
We had a trip to Knaresborough today taking friend Liz to make it a day out for our birthdays later this week. We had to pick up a piece of furniture for daughter Grace and also took the opportunity to suss out some of the road closures for the Tour De France this coming weekend.
Knaresborough was in full 'Le Tour' mode with lots of hand painted T shirts (presumably done by local school children) hung around the streets and castle. I took this shot of the railway bridge from the castle gardens and then we made our way down to the river for some lunch at one of the riverside cafés. The cafe, called The Marigold, had rowing boats which were all newly painted and had French names with the exception of one called the Sir Bradley Wiggins!
We followed the road back to Harrogate, again to see the road situation and called in at Harlow Carr for tea and cake in Betty's. It was packed as it had developed into such a lovely day but was plenty of room in the tea room and we actually sat out on the balcony. Far too nice a day for a mono.
