The Hoppings

The Hoppings

All the fun of the fair on Newcastle Town Moor. These brave souls were hanging on by a thin chain, and then twirling around far up in the sky. Good value for £3.50 I guess - and a cheap thrill if ever there was one.

This is an annual event, but the mud can be on a par with Glastonbury most years. This year was fine however, and the Fair Folk must have made a killing. Even the gorilla prancing around on the ghost train looked happy!

The food looked a bit dodgy, but again, most Geordies are immune to this type of food poisoning; hardy folk one and all. There were big queues for the sixteenth grand daughter of the original daughter, fifth removed, of the Welsh Gypsy Rose Lee (Don't laugh but I could be related !). I wonder what fortunes were being told - such as next year you will certainly win 'Britain's got Talent', or you could be the next Geordie Goddess like 'wor' Cheryl Cole.

After this, it was back to watch more endless football, tennis, and Glastonbury :)
