Perched

...at the top of a Eucalyptus tree, this Cooper's Hawk (or maybe a Red-shouldered Hawk) is surveying the area from a great vantage point. It is probably the highest spot nearby. He frequents this area in the morning and evening, and I had been hoping to get a shot of him. Some day I'll have more than a 10x zoom and can get even more detail. He is very imposing with his beak and claws as well as his golden plumage.
