Canada Day water fight

Its Canada day, celebrating Canada becoming an independent country on 1 July 1867.

We are having a big family BBQ later today, but early afternoon and those of us staying with my nephew Stephen decided a water fight was in order! The most enthusiastic were the big kids, Mhairi and Rosslyn, but Lauren, Eilidh and Ethan, the smaller kids had a great time too, screaming every time they were shot with water.

Canada day seems to lack the jingoism evident in some other countries. Everyone seems so relaxed and confident in their status as an independent country, there is no need to have anything other than a happy day to celebrate with family.
