Black Crag, Pike O'Blisco
With an excellent forecast a day on the rock was called for. Emails circulated and the lovely destination of Black Crag was quickly settled on. It's a high crag - but you walk in from the Three Shire Stone - so a nice steady forty minutes sees you at about 700m asl with stunning views in every direction. The rock is a fabulous volcanic - rough with lapelli and covered in fantastic ash layers - a wonderful place to learn to trust your footwork.
A happy group had an excellent day - I feel better each time I play out - the knee getting stronger week by week. Today I got back on my first Extreme graded climb in over a year - the delicate and ever so slightly bold Glass Slipper E25b - a soft touch, but a good return.
