Newcastle upon Tyne

We arrived at Newcastle this afternoon and had another walkabout from our hotel to the river, over it to Gateshead (where Paul's great great greats come from), and back to the hotel after a tired search for dinner.

We begin our bike ride tomorrow and the weather is . . . great! Our cab driver from the train station (we're listening for and enjoying the Geordie intonation, very up and down, sing song) said that the sun and heat would hold through Friday.
