just might be luck

For the past several months I've been unsuccessfully trying to take a decent photo of a bird. By the time I see the bird and focus my camera, the bird has taken off!

As you can see, this photo includes two blue jays, but another photo I took today actually has three! I do think I'm becoming more comfortable with my camera, and do I dare even say, possibly getting faster at taking a shot! It also seems, or maybe I am imagining this, that I am spotting birds, etc. more quickly.

Or it just might be luck... whatever it is, I'm pleased that I took a decent photo of birds. Now if I could only take a photo of a Cardinal... now that would be something!
