Birding

Hector was just watching a blackbird behind him before I blipped. There is a male one by the fence on the paving stone, you can just see.
The bird feeding tree has been almost stripped of its berries by the blackbirds. Perhaps someone can recognise this tree. It's a lovely tree with white blossom in spring followed by lots of red berries. In the autumn the leaves turn a rich russet red before falling.
The fat feeder is emptied daily which amazes me. Even the fledglings like to partake of this. Whilst the sunflower hearts are enjoyed by the goldfinches, tits, chaffinches and sparrows, the feeders are so popular with the smaller birds. The starlings also come, but they are v greedy.
It's been wonderful watching the young birds this year.
