Under The Weather
Our arrival late last night in Barcelona from Cairo via Rome wasn't great. Neither of us were feeling well with stomachs more than dicky, and we touched down close to midnight in the middle of a taxi strike protesting against the do-it-yourself private car service 'Uber'!
A bus trip, after queuing for an hour, into the centre of Barcelona and then hauling six pieces of luggage weighing over 90kg through the streets for a few kilometres wasn't our idea of 'Welcome Home!'' So, rather than put ourselves through that, we cut and ran for the nearby airport hotel that had a free transfer mini-bus and checked in at 1.30 am.
I was up very early for some work and had to go home to change but, after, came back to the hotel to find Dd still sleeping deeply and with a bit of a temperature. I lay down to catch up on some sleep and we simply couldn't stir ourselves to check out on time. So we're spending another night here and hoping that a good long rest uninterrupted by repacking and unpacking will help set us up again, along with the tummy tablets.
Fingers crossed...about to try some scrambled eggs!
