One of about 150 swans having a bountiful breeding season at Hornsea Mere, with many pairs rearing broods of up to 10 cygnets. On a 20-minute boat ride around the lake I also saw a pair of pochard, a heron, a black swan, a pied wagtail, lots of jackdaws and scores of Canada and greylag geese.
