Lewisia cotyledon
I have only ever known this plant as Lewisia so I have omitted a common name. This was planted on the 25th May in one of our Belfast Sinks without any sign of a flower. It is now a mass of flowers. The flower is about an inch across.
Lewisia are from North West USA and have a flat rosette of semi succulent leaves. Being a mountain plant I think where we have them may not be the best place - a south facing wall which when the sun shines gets quite hot. However so far it seems to be enjoying the conditions.
This is obviously a cultivated variety known as Special Mix.
