Blooming Purple Smokebush

Actually it is fluffy like this in reddish purple, and the bloom with very teeny yellow flowers the it goes into a purple phase...
The two tall green leaved trees next to the bush are hybrid poplars. They were mere 3 foot whips two years ago and just look at them now. they just stand there and provide a privacy screen between that corner and the neighbour.

We (I and my neighbour, A.) are suffering under heat and humidity. Unseasonable. The kind of wretched weather we get for two weeks in August. Week two ... I got up very early to go into the garage and collect lots of recycle for the garbage man who arrives by 9:30 usually. By the time I got garbage and recycles to the curb I was drenched in sweat and ready for a morning shower. Ugh!
The dear garbage man arrived a bit late, sweating in a thin tank top, also putting in a very hot day's work... bless him.
Don't get me wrong. I am NOT complaining. I still remember the long snowy winter. This is okay and I have an air conditioned work/film room.
