wildlife, per Mr. Cicada's suggestion
Monday was the first day I saw them this year. (Sorry, I know you can't see larger.) It's really quite magical to see and transforms the park, though there's just a weak suggestion of that here. I'd like to think that they're descended from a hardy line from before Manhattan was peopled and super-urbanized. Though, like so many other things, maybe they just hitchhiked here on some firewood or some cuttings, or some one figured things needed livening up or wanted to be reminded of home.
I do worry about them a bit, as the park keepers turn on the sprinklers at 9pm.

I think I temporarily spent all my blip mojo on Pride day, but it was worth it.
