End of a long day/night...
This is actually a slight cheat, as I took it at 6am Thursday morning, but seeing as I'd not been to bed in 24 hours, it still felt like Wednesday!
A busy day! I had my first language swap with a girl called Lucia - she lives on our road! She wants to learn English, so we're going to meet regularly and just chat in each language. I really liked her, I think it's going to be good!
Prayer walked with Abby - it's SO good sharing those times with her, I think there's a fair amount of mutual encouragement when we get to pray together round Sa Penya. The guy who owns the café that I prayer journal in, came up to me after we'd sat there chatting, asking if I'm the woman who's a writer - apparently people are talking about a woman who writes there! Realised it's me praying! Ha!
Started the street teams work at 11.30pm - spent the first hour praying in the Centre then headed out for an hour, chatting to people and helping people find their hotels - we alternated praying and helping out until 5am. Not quite as much vomit as I'd feared, but a lot more drugs, and crying people. So good to me able to help out a bit and make sure people were tucked up in beds rather than vulnerable sat out on the street, available for robbings or worse. The night ended in the medical centre with someone who'd be drugged without knowing, with the added complication of epilepsy - who knows what would've happened if 24-7 hadn't stepped in to take care of them. We left at 6am, her being looked after by doctors...
Got home and discovered Danny had locked me out and couldn't be woken! So ended up going for an early morning prayer walk...such a lovely time of day...It was also good as I'd not taken any photos all day/night! Danny woke at 7, so washed and crawled into bed!!
