The Dark Jokes

I went into town late this afternoon, as it was sunny and to see what was around. These guys, The Dark Jokes, were setting up at the Mound and started playing. A gentle rock band, but good to listen to in the nice weather. More about them here. It's not quite up-to-date but you can hear what they are like. I then went up to the Royal Mile, where I saw Darth Vader (smaller than expected and left handed!) and a Storm Trooper. The road had barriers on either side, as the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh were due to travel from the castle to their wee hoose at the bottom of the street. Many tourists were there and I proved to myself that I couldn't be a proper photographer by taking a couple of rubbish shots. I thought they may have made a blip. Despite travelling in a car with no tax disc or even number plates, they were given a police escort and went through a red light. One rule for us and another for them.
