The atmosphere builds

I nipped into Ilkley today for a supermarket run and a visit to the bank. As I got out of the car, a traditional brass band was playing and rather sylishly dressed cyclists in tweed outfits, pipes and flat caps were arriving at what I discovered to be the inaugural Ilkley Traditional Country Ride. Ladies were also arriving suitably clad in vintage outfits whilst Betty's was serving miniature cakes decorated with bicycles on the lawn.

The New Horizons Dance Band were the musicians giving the riders a jolly good send off as they prepared for their outing to Ben Rhydding and Bolton Abbey.

Very civilised indeed!
