Mom and Brood

On July 3rd, every State employee with vacation to spare was at home or in a campground. There is nothing so empty as a state capitol on the eve of a holiday. But I was at work, so I wandered over to the empty college grounds and sat in the plastic adirondack chair next to the stream and enjoyed lunchtime with the ducks.
