Happy 150th Birthday
I nipped into our local Waitrose this morning (other supermarkets are available) and was amazed to see a white rabbit helping a lady to use her hand scanner. I didn't realise white rabbits were specialists in such matters.
I then went into the vegetable area - to be confronted by a flowerpot man (Bill I subsequently discovered) stacking shelves. Soon I spotted Ben on the fruit counter.
The cuddly brown bear of a manager was grinning broadly (as brown bears do) and talking to customers. The Blues Brothers were to be found near to the detergents and cleaning aisle.
I pinched myself. I hadn't got my camera. I pinched myself again. No phone.
Soon I saw a nun. I was about to ask the reverend sister what was going on when I spotted her stubble and caught sight of her hairy legs and shorts underneath her now dirty habit (it wasn't really dirty, but I thought that was funny!!).
Evidently it is the 150th anniversary of John Lewis (and therefore Waitrose). The staff all seemed to be enjoying themselves anyway, and so did the customers.
After paying for my shopping I returned to my car - then back to Waitrose with my camera.
Here is Bill plus Ben flanking Sister Act. They seemed delighted to pose for me.
