Fifty Years on ...

50 years ago this was my favourite birthday present. In the Beatles' era it was a very un-cool choice, and I'd never have told my schoolfriends. Back then, how thrilled would I have been if meeting Rolf Harris had been a further birthday treat? How glad I am that never happened! Seems to me half the country must be in sad shock this week. Which childhood idol next? Please not Sooty or Muffin the Mule!
