A Vinyl View

I was at BBC Scotland's HQ at Pacific Quay in Glasgow this afternoon doing a turn on Janice Forsyth's Culture Studio programme.
I was mainly there to talk about the George Wyllie exhibition at the Beacon Arts Centre in Greenock with my good pal Louise Wyllie.
I also had a chat to Janice (with whom I worked many moons ago on the sadly-missed Ecosse section on The Sunday Times) about a forthcoming Lys Hansen show at The Lillie Art Gallery in Milngavie.
I interviewed Lys a couple of weeks ago at her studio in the Perthshire village of Braco for a forthcoming piece in The Herald.

I took this pic of Janice as she fretted over her old style turntable. She was asking listeners to take part in an online Vinyl Verdict vote between Surfin' USA and California Dreamin'.
The programme would be played out by whichever record the listeners chose on this proper record player - not a flick-of-a-switch digital type machine...
