The Dunlaps Arrive and the Beans Get Spilled
I woke up whenever I wanted to finally roll out of bed this morning, it felt so awesome! I was expecting Tyler and Kalie to come up early this afternoon but they didn't end up getting home until after we got back from the airport. So I had a few hours in the morning to run some more errands, clean, prepare, etc. The day went by quickly, especially because I can't do much without having to take a break every 20 minutes or so. I feel like an old person with heart failure, but I'm praying that this is just another temporary hurdle to overcome while growing another human inside of me.
Jimmy got off of work pretty early and we knew we needed to go over and visit with his mom to give her the good news before we got caught up with all my family being here and she just finds out at the reception like everyone else. So we headed over there and both Sherry and Jim were home. I got her a sweet card that also included a picture of the sonogram and a tag line that read, "I'm so excited to meet you Grandma!". Even with all those clues it took her a good while to realize what it was. She thought it was Jimmy's sonogram, but no, I had to reinforce that it was a new baby this time. She was shocked, and kind of speechless for awhile, but eventually as it sank in some more, she got very excited. She also got a framed picture of the sonogram which promptly got a place in the middle of the mantle. It was such a special time and I'm glad we got to tell her in person.
After that adventure, we headed over to the airport where the family was waiting for us. Mom, Tom and Caden all looked so different, but I guess that's what happens when you don't see someone for 6 months. When we got home Tyler and Kalie were there and we all got to visit for awhile before I had to go to sleep. Everyone had a busy day and there were plenty more to come in the next few days.
