Singing Tui

Caught this tui singing his/her heart out to another tui when we arrived home from the dog walk. We have a tree with some kind of berry they like. I sneaked up as close as you can see there are a lot of leaves and the sun was shining in my eyes. This was the best of several, blipping makes me want a camera upgrade. Those of you who know tuis will appreciate the beautiful colours and patterns you can see up close. Would be good if you could hear him/her sing too!! Tui is the only bird with two voice boxes and consequently they are very musical although they also have a a clack like sound. Studies have shown they also have different dialects unique to the area they live in.
