Independence Day

Thankfully the weather held off and there was only rain during the morning. Seems Hurricane Arthur is gonna keep away from NYC.

In the spirit of all things American we chose to have incredible (ginormous) pancakes for breakfast, frozen margaritas, guac and chips for lunch and hot dogs for dinner.

We then headed over to a very crowded Brooklyn to watch the fireworks. Each year they take it in turns to have the fireworks on the east (Brooklyn) and west (New Jersey) side of Manhattan. Unfortunately this wasn't the year they had them on our side, but then I guess I have more than enough photos of the skyline from our side! It was a very good show, but I wouldn't say it's the best I've seen, London 2012 still takes that!
