The godforsaken unmentionable place
We've left the godforsaken unmentionable place far behind.
We stopped in Perth for lunch at MacDonalds and made a solemn vow. With our hands one on top of the other, we vowed never to return to the godforsaken unmentionable place.
We've moved on to a place of blue skies and absolutely no midges. I cannot begin to describe how horrendously awful they were in that godforsaken unmentionable place. The fantastically sympathetic pharmacist in Fort Augustus knows. I told her all about it as she wiped away my tears and sold me various lotions and potions.
But we're here now, on the East coast. I have bubbles and sunshine. The boys are out playing and making friends. Hubby's supping beer and relaxing.
Makes me laugh to think of my final conversation with the owners of the godforsaken unmentionable place. They asked me if we were leaving because of something they'd done. No, no, I said. It's a lovely campsite, I said. It's just the midges, I said. Hmmm, she said. They are quite bad at the moment. BAD? BAD!? THEY ARE OFFICIALLY FRICKING HORRENDOUS! ARE YOU INSANE!?
Anyway, calm...bubbles...blue skies...no midges...
:-)
