Yellow bikes

Well what a fantastic show Yorkshire has put on today. It is a long while since I have sat in front of the tele for that length of time, but I have enjoyed every minute of the Yorkshire Tourist Board publicity Le Tour.

After the finish we took Reggie up on to Penistone Hill , before the roads close for tomorrow's stage. There are tents and campervans and motorhomes every where, and so many people out and about. It is truly delightful.

This is the cricket club up on the Moor which MidgeholeDave blipped recently . There are tents on the outfield and when we arrived they were trying to attach this bike to the roof of the clubhouse, but it didn't want to stay on there! When the guys saw me taking pictures they all came to pose for me.

Reggie had a check up at the vets today in Bingly and I was amazed by the amount of people trying to get on the train at the station to get into Leeds and/or Ilkley. It was like rush hour on the Northern Line and there was a constant stream of people walking past the vets, in yellow t shirts and with cameras. It was a wonderful thing to see. I felt cheated that the Olympics didn't have one event in Yorkshire, but I think this has been better than anything the Olympics could have given us.

Well done to those that had the vision to get it for us, and for the whole of the area for getting behind it in such style.

Walking over to Crossroads tomorrow to watch it go through there. Hope it is as good as today has been.
