Inexperienced nest builder.

The Water of Leith is quite low at the moment. I came across this moorhen build a nest on some reeds in the middle of the river. I can't help wonder if this is inexperience as the slightest rain means the river rises pretty quickly, meaning it will probably be washed away. A shame as the moorhen is putting a lot of work in to building a nice nest.
