Home sweet home
Back home now after a good journey down from Orkney. We did nt leave until the 2.45pm ferry so had plenty of time to have a delicious breakfast at the Hoxa Café. We went for a walk down to the wartime remains and I sat in the sunshine watching the guillemots swimming about on the water some with young looking like little wind up toys.
After passing another half an hour watching the waves and a couple of seals at the Sands of wright we headed for the ferry. Not too busy and definitely not as busy as Kirkwall that had 3 cruise ships in today.
We stopped at 'John o Grots' , Yes Grots as that's what it is, with it's damaged signs and places in need of several coats of paint. You even had to pay 20p for a wee, Imagine that cycling all that way and then needing a 20 pence piece. We only had one and Mike was 'desperate' so he went and I went for nothing later lol !
We stopped and had our picnic that we had made at Hoxa café and sat and watched the Fulmars, I could nt see the spycam that is there !
The sun was just at the right height, amazing colours and if you were to make a harbour as a model I think you would base it on Lybster with it's freshly painted, colourful boats and it's red and white lighthouse.
Now home and the unpacking can wait until tomorrow. The garden is now a jungle so that will be a major task , hope it's still sunny tomorrow !
