A Royal Pair
It's been another day mostly at home. I'm still feeling under the weather with this chesty cough/asthma thing that's been hanging on. It's not giving in to the prednisone and antibiotics just yet, but hopefully a few more days will turn it around.
One job that I did manage to do those was round up the ducks and take them down to Terry and Belinda at the Kaituna Bird Sanctuary. It's sad to see them go (those loud quacks are just part of the soundtrack of daily life here) but with us trying to get the property tidied up before marketing the house, having five duck manure machines roaming at will isn't exactly what you need. Seeing as the ducks all came from down the road at the sanctuary, it was good to see them fit right in as if they hadn't left!
Whilst I was at the end of the road, I swung round to nearby Stony Point to grab a few shots across the lake. The mountains were looking impressive, but not as imperious as this pair of Royal Spoonbills that were wading in the lagoon close to the rail trail.
