Stage 2

I've decided that's it's practically impossible to get a whole rider AND his bike perfectly in focus, so after giving you a slightly blurry Froome on Thursday during the parade, I give you: slightly blurry Geraint Thomas from Sky and a rider from Lampre (sorry - not sure who he is).

Amazing atmosphere in York this morning. St Michael le Belfrey put on an amazing supply of tea, coffee, cakes and sanctuary and the weather stayed just about fine.

The caravan was impressive and I loved the Yorkshire Tea vans with their enthusiastic passengers lobbing boxes of tea into the crowd at worryingly high speeds. Highlight was seeing the reactions of the outriders and the people in the Tour cars when they saw the crowds and the Minster - some even pulled over to take photos.

Slightly disappointed not to see them at full racing speed, but given that this photo was taken without any zooming in, I can't complain at the view.

Apparently 2 million people lined the route yesterday and I bet numbers are similar today.
