Le Peloton

I am not sure whether anyone else has mentioned it but there was a cycle race in Yorkshire today. These chaps were in the main group, concentrating hard to avoid colliding with photographers who got too close. They zoomed by just a couple of minutes after the leading breakaway group.

I set off from home at 9.30 to walk up to the race and got home seven hours later. In that time I saw maybe 30 seconds of actual cycle racing, but it was worth it, to enjoy the festive atmosphere and to have "been there."

But there was lots to see and enjoy, such as:

Lancashire catering
Yellow wigs
The pre-race "caravan."
Les Bleus
Strong security measures at the frontier
And a confrontation in the crowd.
