A slice of Lesley's life

Making bread whilst the sun shines

Should probably have been out somewhere enjoying another lovely sunny day but I fear we are slightly starting to take them for granted. Well that, and the need to finally begin to tackle the sorting out of the kitchen. I can't remember if I've talked about this already but whilst we are away over the summer some lovely people are going to come into the house and transform our oddly arranged, slightly falling apart kitchen into something that is much less so on both accounts. Yes it is going to be that simple and no it is not going to go the way of Jennifer Aldridges* and for anyone who may think otherwise please give me a moment to put my fingers in my ears, "la, la, la..." It is arguably a high risk approach but the mere thought of not having to try and live a normal life amongst the chaos, especially as I work from home, makes it very worth it.

Anyway, I found some bread flour and yeast on the verge of going out of date so the kids valiantly volunteered to make bread. We should do it more as they really love it. We are completely wiped and ready for a feet up with a Carlos curry and a couple of episodes of Suits. A big relief to have started though and we made considerably more progress than I expected.
