Snail has Lucky Escape

Under the tray of bedding plants two well fed frogs were just about to devour a fat snail for lunch when the gardener inadvertently lifted the tray to expose their security.

A number of pictures were taken but such is the frogs ability to change colour to fit the background the pictures lacked definition against the grey/brown stone slabs.

The picture used is of one of the pair crossing the lawn in fits and starts to find shelter in the adjoining herbaceous border.

Both frogs headed in the same direction but minutes apart, how did they know to travel in right direction?

In France frogs legs and snails are a culinary delicacy. Desperate cuisine.

P. S. The snail survived and was last seen heading at speed in the opposite direction to the frogs.
