Exeter Quay

Picked up friend Marilyn nice and early and set off for Exeter. Scooped up Lucy and drove down to the quay. Well I'd heard it was nice there but what a find ! Delightful little artisan shops built into the quay walls selling an eclectic mix of crafts, jewellery, cafés etc. After we'd stopped for coffee we walked over the canal bridge and down the canal path to the first lock. By this time we had donned kagoules as the drizzle was quite heavy so we turned back until we found a suitable lunch stop. Of course once we'd turned back the rain stopped so we sat outside to have our lunch at a canal side cafe. After we'd eaten we walked back over the river, past the Roman walls to our car. We will return !
