Lefkara

Headed up into the mountains today in search of silver, authentic Cypriot food and beautiful scenery...not hard to find. This is the inside of a particularly quirky restaurant in Lefkara. There were so many lovely shops and restaurants we will have to go back one day. In Lefkara we met a Cypriot with a strong Welsh accent and another who said she was born in Yorkshire. We bought rings from a silver shop and cakes from a local cafe. The buildings around Lefkara have inner courtyards a little like you might find in parts of Italy. We then headed right up into the Troodos mountains where the air is cooler and the countryside covered in pine trees. The wee hire car struggled all the way to the top.

It was a lovely day of sight seeing shopping and eating good food. It's hard work being on holiday!
