Lake George, New York
We went to the village of Lake George today, which developed around the southern most part of a 32 mile long lake of the same name. The entire area is bordered by the Adirondak mountains. We took a cruise on an old fashioned paddle wheel boat called the Minne-Ha-Ha--the twins thought the name was so funny--& the day was perfect for it...sunny & breezy! We saw lots of beautiful homes, & a great many jet skis, speedboats, and parasails---this was one of them. We toured Fort William Henry as well. This was a British Fort from 1755-1757, @ which time it was forcibly taken by the French. This fort was the subject of James Fenimore Cooper's " The Last of the Mohicans". :)
