A busy day for Orkney

What a day!

Three liners all came into Kirkwall Bay together - over 7,500 people. It was a very hectic and busy day with many streets closed to traffic, music in the open air, shops packed and cafes and bars overflowing and the sun shining on the great and the good of Orkney!

We've never had so many visitors at one time and we think we coped quite well. Visitors from all around the world I'm sure have gone away with a good impression and hopefully will come back again, (although perhaps not all together!)

The roads were jam packed on occasion with all the buses, minibuses, taxis and cars that were mobilised to get people round all the sights and we still got everyone back on board for their evening departure.

A thoroughly enjoyable though hectic day was had by all.
