Rackwick, Hoy
What a stunning day. After staying overnight on Hoy we met a group of ramblers off the 10 o'clock boat at the Hoy Pier. We then walked through to Rackwick along the Old Road and lunched in Rackwick.
Folk then walked round to the Old Man. The group then divided - some travelling via St John's Head and the Cuillags and some via the road to Moanesss. We all met in the Cafe at Linksness for beers and coffees. After arriving at Stromness off the 7.00 pm boat we dashed home to change for dancing, where we did some very tough dances.
The house in this view is 'Bunnertoon' which was once the residence of Sir Peter Maxwell Davies in the 70s and 80s. It has a tremendous view being perched overlooking the Pentland Firth. This is also a spectacular location in a storm.
