Far Too Big!!!

This is the Ruby Princess, 951 feet long and 195 feet high! She was one of three cruise liners in at Kirkwall today, the place was thronged with tourists, over 7,500 of them in total. She alone had 3,100 passengers and 1,200 crew! I was in the craft shop in the morning and we had three buses full, with two more in the afternoon.

Luckily I escaped at lunchtime - kittens to feed, you see! Drove through to Stromness to pick up a delivery of sock wool, where there wasn't a tourist to be seen. They get bussed around the archaeological sights but never get a chance to see the very attractive and historic town of Stromness with its waterfront and tiny winding lanes and it's rather a sore point with the shop keepers of the town.
