Jim's Boat

This is Jim's boat - I guess the clue is in the title.

The weather up here at the moment is stunning. Beautiful big blue skies with wonderful clouds and gorgeous sunsets.

I am reminded of beauty this evening when I see his boat. I am reminded of beauty when I stand and look at the colours of the sky, the clouds, the sea.

My work is so full of technical detail, machine based systems, computers, procedures, routines, mechanics, throttles, engines, power settings, instrument procedures, checks and double checks - and you slowly lose your sense of being human to it all.

You literally detach yourself from the aircraft at the end of the day as though you've been assimilated into it, and had all your emotions sucked up and neutralised.

It's good to be reminded of real things.
