Remembering chaiselounge/Teleri

First bloom this season,
glowing in warm sunlight; buds
reaching sunward too.

And here is the loveliest bud of all.

After a nap of nearly six hours on Sunday, I went into the back yard for a few minutes in late afternoon, longing to find something suitable to honor this date, and was very grateful to see this rose.

(I'm better today than yesterday, and thankful for your good wishes. For those who asked, I don't have shingles, having had the one-time injection for that nasty disease several years ago. Hives are bad enough, with the itchiness and swelling; the pain of shingles would be far worse.

Now comes the challenge of not overdoing as I regain energy and brain power over the next few days, and then can work on rebuilding some strength; it's amazing what a couple of days in bed can do to that!)
