Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

2014 Saturday — Final Morning

We have sat at the shoreline every morning from Monday until today. Each morning the sky was a wonder to watch, but we kept hoping for a sunrise and finally today was the day.

The final day of camp brings with it lots of activity. Everyone has to get all their belongings packed and out of their cabin or tent. Then the tent must be swept, the battery operated lanterns, and the pillows must be returned to the office area.

The boat that would take us back across the channel to San Pedro was scheduled to arrive at 12:15.

It was a busy day. Then when we arrived home, we had 3 pooches in the kennel that were waiting for us. We also had to connect with Tristan's dad, to get Tristan back to where he belonged. His mom, our granddaughter, Desiree, is visiting in Kansas with her boyfriend and they won't be back for another week and a half.

We've had a phenomenal week at family camp. Our time with little Tristan has been priceless. Listening to his constant chatter, watching as he plays with his toys in our cabin, and experiencing camp through his eyes is such a privilege. Just listening to him breathe at night as he falls asleep is so special. I guess I sound like a great-grandmother, but that's okay, because that's what I am to Tristan.

Good night from Southern California,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
