As we wandered down the road for our dawnish walk, this magpie was warbling away like a mad thing in the drizzle while the butcher bird watched on.

Reminded me of Mark Knopfler's Romeo and Juliet:
A love-struck Romeo sings the streets a serenade
Laying everybody low with a love song that he made.
Finds a streetlight, steps out of the shade
Says something like, "You and me babe, how about it?"
