Beamish Quilt Collection

Today, instead of the normal advanced patchwork class, we were lucky enough to be able to visit Beamish, an outdoor museum near Durham. We were there to have a closer inspection of their quilt collection with one of the curators. It was extremely inspiring and although there were many beautifully made quilts, my favourite was the crazy quilt.We were also lucky enough to be shown around their extensive stores and told about their plans to develop a 1950's area. They also have a fantastic collection of Norman Cornish paintings and drawings, which was very exciting to see.
