Four weeks ago we awoke to chaos. 80,000 trees down, roads blocked, paths blocked, traintracks blocked and the firemen working flat out with chainsaws.

Slowly, slowly the trees are being removed, a few paths around us are still blocked and the chicane of trees at the top of our road remains, the rail route into Essen wont reopen until September and the woods are also shut until September 1st because they're deemed too dangerous.
