Brachiopod

Today's find was a fossil, collected by Sam in the soil around the school field. I think it's a brachiopod of some kind and, having checked our fossil book, I think it might be an Epithyris, a Jurassic creature, but I might well be wrong about that.

The little point at the top is the foramen, which is where the stalk attached the creature to the sea floor. Cool eh? It's going in the curiosity box.
