Lavender in the pouring rain!

Lots of varieties of lavender were out and alongside was a field of wild flowers (such as I hadn't seen for years) - but perhaps because of the rain there were hardly any bees, no butterflies or insects. Have you noticed how there are no insects on your windscreen if you drive at night? A very few maybe but not like there used to be - how much of this world are we killing with our sprays and things?
