Copse, Spire, Rainbow

The Spire of Umberslade Baptist Church from Obelisk Farm, Nuthurst, Warwickshire.

About the Day
Had a word with RH. Hopefully a solution is around the corner. Once Cath was out singing I was out the door.

About the Blip
From 400 yards west of Hockley parish church, along the road to Earlswood, runs a path south to Obelisk Farm, Nuthurst. This half mile begins with a lovely, high, tree-lined narrow road with grassed humps. The remaining half mile contains no less than three redundant churches, one of which is a former mortuary chapel, and another, converted for use as a small, timber-framed school; and an obelisk. I had never walked here before, though had seen the spire and the obelisk passing along the M40 close by and had often vowed to get in close.

The sky threatened rain and once under cover of a copse of yews and cedars which surround the baptist church, so the clouds opened. I was tickled to find two small urns spread apart from each other, but linked by their common use of a bunch of plastic flowers poking out of the neck of an Oakley's beer bottle.

After about half an hour wandering back and forth in the copse, unexpectedly, the light streamed horizontally across the land. I peered out and saw it was raining hard. I re-traced my steps to a stile leading to a field running down to Spring Lane. Looking back as I charged into the open, this is what I saw.

In Other News
In the 15 minutes or so it took me to drive home, I heard 4 goals go past the Brazilian keeper. I cannot imagine the anguish the hosts must now be going through.
